Total-Joint

Total joint replacement is a surgical procedure in which parts of an arthritic or damaged joint are removed and replaced with a metal, plastic or ceramic device called a prosthesis. The prosthesis is designed to replicate the movement of a normal, healthy joint.

There are multiple types of total joint replacements, performed for a variety of reasons. Many patients believe that they will inevitably lose function once they have a replacement and that they will have to live with decreased function, but this is not true! With a commitment and the right instruction in the proper corrective exercise, flexibility, mobility, strengthening and manual techniques, patients can return to their normal function. It takes work, but you can do it! We can help.
